An Anglia tour is an unrivalled educational experience.
At Anglia we care about our customers, our staff, the places we visit, the stories we tell and the organisations we work with.
These key principles define who we are and what we do. We believe they are also the reason why Anglia is the market leader in fully-guided history trips for UK schools.
We work with you to design a bespoke tour which meets the specific needs of your school and which supports what you are teaching in class. We start by asking what you want your students to see and what you want them to experience then build the tour around these requirements. A tour which, as the testimonials on our website show, your students will find thought-provoking, engaging and enjoyable.
An assured member of the School Travel Forum (STF) and the holder of the prestigious Learning Outside the Classroom Quality Badge, Anglia has also has been recognised by the Western Front Association as a key provider for UK schools’ WW1 battlefield tours. We select carefully the sites we visit, mindful of their relevance to the tour and the environmental impact which groups repeatedly visiting the same places can have.
We are a member of ABTA, so booking a tour with Anglia also provides you with financial security. Additionally, the flights and flight-inclusive packages we offer are financially protected by the ATOL scheme. We also include as standard, travel insurance specifically tailored to the needs of educational groups.
As you will have an experienced guide with you throughout your tour, someone who is able to deal with any issues which may arise, we can also offer you far greater peace of mind wherever you are travelling to.
Visits and the threat from terrorism
The current global situation means the possibility of being close to, or caught up in, a terrorist attack is a risk faced by us all. Like all risks this needs to be kept in perspective and managed in a thoughtful and proportionate way. Please see the latest advice from the Outdoor Education Advisory Panel regarding foreign travel and questions around terrorism.

Anglia Tours was formed in 1997 out of a desire to offer high-quality guided tours. Starting with day trips to the Somme battlefields, we have grown into one of the largest independent schools' history tours operators in the UK offering tours to locations across the UK and Ireland, Europe and America.
Since 2011 the company has been based near Colchester in Essex. Our Tour Coordinators, Reservations staff and Administrative support, along with the Anglia Management team, are based in offices in Charles House, the heart of the Anglia operation.
Anglia's team of almost 50 expert guides are based across the UK and now also mainland Europe. Our guide team includes individuals with years of experience in education, the armed forces and the police. So whether you are looking for a soldier’s perspective on the battlefields of France and Flanders or an academic approach for an A level tour to Berlin we have just the guide to meet your individual needs. We are confident that no other UK Schools' Tours Operator can match this commitment.
What makes an Anglia tour different?
Most Operators offer essentially the same itinerary to each school, irrespective of the age of the students and what they are studying. An itinerary built around visits to the places they want to include. Whatever your students are studying, whether it's the First World War; Democracy and Dictatorship in Germany; ‘Injuries, treatment and the trenches on the Western Front’, or a host of other modules, we will provide you with a bespoke programme designed specifically to support your classroom-based teaching.
The fact that our guides remain with the group throughout the tour means we are able to offer programmes which enable schools to achieve more in less time. As an example, those who travel with us on a 1 day trip to Ypres will cover far more in a single day than most other operators will offer in 2 days.
That’s the Anglia Standard.
