Tour Introduction

If your school is not able to travel across to France or Belgium, Anglia is delighted to offer a UNIQUE fully-guided, Great War tour, based wholly in the UK. This school tour has been designed specifically to enable your entire year group to benefit from the Anglia experience.

With visits to:

  • a former Great War training camp
  • Commonwealth and German Military cemeteries
  • a reconstructed trench system
  • the National Memorial Arboretum

The tour will cover themes including:

  • recruitment and training of the British Expeditionary Force
  • trench construction and trench warfare
  • illness, injuries and treatment on the Western Front
  • the development and use of gas
  • the impact of the Great War


There will also be an opportunity for the group to see period equipment and weaponry.
