Occupation, Resistance and Holocaust

Tour Introduction

On 10th May 1940, as tanks rolled across the border and aircraft bombed its cities, a darkness descended on the Dutch nation.

In the five years that followed, more than 200,000 Dutch citizens would be murdered, 500,000 would be transported to Germany as forced labour and almost 110,000 Dutch and German Jews would be transported to their death in the East.

The story of life under Nazi occupation is a fascinating one.
