At Anglia Tours we believe history should be bigger than facts and figures on a page. All our guided tours tell stories designed to enrich the experience of students, immersing them in destinations that bring history to life. Our series of itineraries for history tours to Germany offer authentic insights into a period that altered the course of human history forever.
Whatever the topic, our fully guided tours are designed to support your learning objectives, with excursions chosen specifically to enhance the teaching process.
Our range of Nazi Germany itineraries to Berlin, Munich and Nuremberg retrace the steps of Hitler’s rise to power, exploring key locations, events and propaganda that were instrumental in kickstarting the Second World War.
The Munich & Nuremberg tour includes a visit to the former Concentration Camp at Dachau as well as the excellent Documentation Centre for Fascination and Terror. Classes on the Berlin route will see sites such as Brandenburg Gate, Bebelplatz and the Olympic Stadium.
For an in-depth study of the conception and execution of The Final Solution, our Road to the Holocaust tour traces the process by which such an unimaginable crime became reality. The tour will examine the role played by organisations like the Gestapo and the SS at the site of their former headquarters whilst also visiting areas where Berlin’s Jewish community lived and worked long before the Nazis came to power.
For those studying the Cold War our itineraries will take you to locations such as Cecilienhof Palace, the Allied Museum, Treptow Park Soviet Memorial and the Berlin Wall and Documentation Centre, where we will help your students navigate their way through the complexities of the Cold War right up to the fall of the Wall in 1989.
Alternatively, we can offer an extended Berlin itinerary which will take you through life in Nazi Germany, the final days of the Nazi regime before moving on to the Cold War and reunification.
For those students studying Pearson Edexcel’s GCSE History modules Anglia is delighted to offer a selection of itineraries that have been endorsed by the examination board – Weimar & Nazi Germany 1918-1939, Life in Nazi Germany and the Origins of the Cold War and ‘Superpower relations and the Cold War, 1941–91′.
