Anglia Tour Planning Support
Our aim is to provide you with peace of mind from the moment you first contact us. We can arrange for a representative from Anglia to visit you to discuss all aspects of planning your tour, including talking through, in detail, any safety concerns you may. Following this we can attend your parents evening and take any questions you, your parents and students may have regarding the group’s safety on the trip.
Anglia Guides and 24 Hour Support for You
Anglia is one of the only schools’ tours operator that, as a matter of course, puts guides on all of its tours. So when you are on tour, if there were an emergency, they are your first point of contact. Our guides are supported, in turn, by a Duty Officer, available 24 hours a day on a mobile number issued to the lead teacher. In the unlikely event of a major emergency, we would set up an incident room at the Anglia offices and ensure this is manned to give fast, efficient and coordinated responses.
One of the key skills of all Anglia guides have is the ability to act effectively in an emergency. The majority of our guides joined us following careers in the military, policing or teaching. This means that when they began guiding with Anglia they already had with a wealth of knowledge, training and experience of dealing with emergencies. This is something we reinforce during their initial training, develop in our annual guide training and reinforce through our guide validation programme. Your guide will be on hand to provide you with invaluable support and advice on tour, ensuring the well-being of your students.
“I visibly relax when our guide arrives. A guided tour means you are in safe hands and it takes a huge amount of stress away. You have day to day issues on a school trip, but you know as soon as you touch base with your guide, that you are supported and reassured.”
Jenny Howe, St Anne’s Roman Catholic High School
“Around the Battlefields, you never know what will happen with the weather and Anglia’s guides will help you change your itinerary around so that the conditions don’t really impact on the tour. Their awareness of health and safety is a big help. Also, although we look after ‘crowd control’ the guides are always keen to muck in and the 14 staff and 6 guides always work as a team.”
Paul Edwards, Calthorpe Park School
