Anglia’s landmark tour to Northern Ireland explores the fragile peace process which is slowly and painfully bringing the people of Northern Ireland the hope of a safe and peaceful future. With around 95% of schools in the area still segregated, and a Peace Wall physically dividing the capital, this is a process that will undoubtedly continue for decades to come.
Examining the background to and events of the Troubles which ripped apart the province during the latter part of the twentieth century, the tour visits both Derry/Londonderry and Belfast. To understand the complexities of this story we believe it is essential to hear from those directly involved – whatever their allegiance – and understand how their differing views gave rise to such diametrically opposed versions of history.
A combination of guided walking tours – led by those who experienced the Troubles at first hand – workshops and study visits, this unique tour will afford your students an extraordinary educational experience.
Incredibly impressive, very moving and informative
