Staff Rides

Tour Introduction

Staff Rides are designed specifically for formation, Tri-Service Headquarters, career courses and development for these courses.  The focus is likely to be on the operational to strategic level. Anglia Tours will work closely with the Exercise Director to deliver precisely the support the Commander requires. We can assist with reading lists, pre-tour study days, supporting written material and provide contemporary maps and photographs. In addition we apply our travel expertise to deliver the complete package or simply provide one or two elements as a ‘flexible facilitator’.

This year to mark the Centenary of the Last Hundred Days of the Great War, we are delighted to be able to offer a 3-day programme devised and led by Lieutenant-General Jonathon Riley, CB DSO PhD MA FRhistS, visiting Professor in War Studies at King’s College London. Focusing on Operation Michael, the German Spring Offensive of 1918; the Battle of Amiens in August 1918; and the Breaking of the Hindenburg Line, this tour looks in depth at how the British Army turned the tide in 1918 and the developments which led to the birth of Modern Warfare.
